Horticultural Lighting Systems
In the northern hemisphere, supplementary lighting systems in greenhouses are integral to enhancing crop production. Through using highly-efficient lighting, the grow season is extended, allowing the producer to deliver consistent crops.
Currently, in the UK we only produce 5% of our produce from greenhouses and the vast majority of our produce is imported. We are keen to support UK horticultural producers and increase our national production output.

How a Hortifactor light works
More light
- The reflector is made of German ALANOD and reflectivity up to 95%.
- The reflector has four position adjustments, ensuring optimal functioning in various environments.
- The light from the lamp is refracted once in the reflector and cannot be reflected back into the lamp, in this way, reducing the loss of the lamp and producing more usable light and less heat.
Less heat
- The air hole design of the Hortifactor version can take away the heat generated by the lamp, and the cooling effect is significant after experimental tests. It can release the radiation generated by the lamp and the heat transferred to the reflector.
- The reflector contains 60mm opening through which the heat can escape. Result is less heat.
Optimal air circulation
- The lamp holder and the lamp body have a connected air duct, hot air can be escaped from the 60mm hole. This design can better take away the heat emitted by the lamp, the air can be recycled to improve the temperature of the whole lamp, get a better temperature, so as to ensure its longer lifetime.
- The air hole can be installed on any side of the lamp holder, easy to exchange. The user can replace the air hole and the baffle on the side of the lamp holder according to the environmental situation.
Low operating temperature
The ballast housing design has better heat dissipation effect. There are heat dissipation teeth around and at the bottom, which resulting in a lowest operating temperature.
Strong waterproof performance
- The lamp and ballast connection uses IP67 waterproof connector, with high waterproof performance in their class.
- And we use a waterproof air vent valve, which creates a pressure balance to extend the life of the ballast and ensure its function.
- Input we use Wieland connector, has better waterproof performance.
- Ballast front and rear baffles add waterproof gaskets to improve waterproof performance.
- The teeth of the ballast housing can also effectively prevent water accumulation.
